StayFit (the "App") is a calorie and training tracker published by Taoufik Jabbari ("we", "us"). StayFit shows your day as a budget: your basal burn funds it, food spends it, steps and workouts earn it back. This policy explains what data the App handles, why, and the choices you have.
The App can be used in guest mode. In that mode your profile, food log, workouts and history are stored only on your device and are removed when you uninstall. Nothing is written to our database, and no account exists to delete.
Signing in uses Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. We never see or store your password. Apple's Hide My Email is supported and works normally.
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Account identifier, display name, email (if the provider shares one) | Sign you in, keep your data attached to you, address you by name | Firebase Authentication / Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud, EU & US regions) |
| Profile: height, weight, age, biological sex, activity level, goal, experience, training focus | Compute your basal metabolism, calorie budget and macro targets | Cloud Firestore, under your account |
| Food log (foods, portions, calories, macros, meal, day) | Show your daily balance and history | Your device, and Cloud Firestore under your account |
| Training log (programmes, sessions, sets, weights, durations) | Track your workouts and progression | Your device, and Cloud Firestore under your account |
| Body weight and measurements you enter | Draw your progress charts | Your device, and Cloud Firestore under your account |
| Subscription status (Free / Premium) | Unlock Premium features on your devices | Cloud Firestore, under your account |
If you add friends, share a programme or appear on the leaderboard, a limited profile — your display name, handle, avatar initial and training summary (sessions, tonnage, records, achievements, recent activity) — becomes visible to the people you are connected with, and your ranking position becomes visible to other users of the leaderboard. Your food log, your weight, your measurements and your photos are never shared. Social features are optional; if you never add a friend, nothing about you is shown to anyone.
Progress photos are written to the App's private storage on your phone. They are not uploaded, not backed up to our servers, and no one else can see them. Deleting the App deletes them. If you export an evolution video, the video is rendered on your device and you choose where it goes.
With your explicit permission, StayFit reads steps, active energy and workouts from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) to credit the calories you burned. This data is used on your device to compute your balance; the resulting totals (calories, steps) sync with your account, and the underlying health records are not sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. You can revoke the permission at any time in your system settings. StayFit never writes to Apple Health.
When you describe a meal in words or take a photo of it, that text or image is sent to Google's Gemini API to estimate the foods, calories and macros, and the result is returned to the App. Send only what you are comfortable sharing — the photo should be of your food. We do not use these submissions to train models, and we do not keep a copy beyond what is needed to return the estimate. The barcode scanner and food search query the public Open Food Facts database, which receives only the barcode or the search words.
If you allow notifications, StayFit sends training reminders, meal reminders and (if you use the social features) alerts when a friend interacts with you. These are delivered through Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging, which requires storing a device token. Turn them off any time in the App or in your system settings.
StayFit uses Firebase Analytics to count anonymous, aggregated usage events (screens opened, features used) so we can see what is worth improving, together with the standard crash reports Apple and Google provide. These are tied to an app-instance identifier, not to your name or email, and are never used for advertising.
StayFit Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly, with a free trial), billed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. Payment, renewal and cancellation are handled by the store; manage or cancel it in your Apple Account or Google Play subscription settings. We only store whether your account is Free or Premium.
Your data is kept while your account exists. Profile → Delete my account erases your account and the data attached to it (profile, logs, social profile, friendships) from our database; local data goes when you delete the App. You can also write to contact@stayfit-app.com and we will delete it for you.
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you may request access, correction, export or erasure of your personal data, and you may object to processing. The legal basis is your consent (health data, notifications, AI features) and the performance of our agreement with you (running the App). Write to contact@stayfit-app.com; we answer within 30 days.
StayFit is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email contact@stayfit-app.com and we will remove it.
We rely on Google Firebase (authentication, database, messaging, analytics), Google Gemini (AI food estimates), Open Food Facts (public food database), and Apple / Google for payments and crash reports. Each processes data only to provide those functions.
We may update this Policy. The "Effective" date above changes when we do, and material changes are announced in the App.
