Every player in the world gets the identical daily grid, so times are comparable and the world ladder means something. It resets at midnight UTC. Keep the streak going.

Hints that teach

Stuck? A hint fills the next square you could have deduced, and names the technique that proves it: naked single, hidden pair, pointing pair, X-Wing. Most sudoku apps just give you the number. Each hint adds 30 seconds to the time that counts, shown openly on the win screen, so the ladder stays fair.
