Astral (the "App") is a PDF, JSON, image, and text utility toolkit published by Taoufik Jabbari ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the App collects, how we use it, and your choices.
Quick summary: Astral processes your files and text entirely on your device. Your PDFs, images, and text are never uploaded to us or anyone else. There is no account and no login. The App shows ads, which you can remove with a one-time purchase that restores automatically across your devices through your Apple ID.
1. On-device processing
Every tool in Astral — merging or splitting PDFs, converting or editing images, formatting JSON, transforming text — runs locally on your iPhone. The contents of the files and text you process are never sent off your device, never uploaded to a server, and never seen by us.
2. Information we collect
Usage analytics: Google Firebase Analytics collects standard, anonymized app-usage signals (screen views, session length, device model, OS version) so we can improve the app. This is aggregated and is not linked to your identity.
Advertising (AdMob): Unless you have purchased Remove Ads, Google AdMob serves banner and interstitial ads. With your permission (the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt), AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show more relevant ads. If you decline, you still get non-personalised ads.
Purchases: Remove Ads is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment; we never see your card or billing details.
Crash and diagnostic data: standard iOS / App Store crash reports may be shared with us by Apple, anonymized and aggregated.
3. Information we do NOT collect
We do not upload, read, or store the contents of your PDFs, images, or text.
We do not ask for your real name, phone number, contacts, calendar, microphone, or precise location.
Photos you pick are read only to process them on-device; results are saved only where you choose to export them.
4. Third-party services
Google Firebase (Analytics): anonymized app-usage analytics. Firebase Privacy.
On first launch the App asks for permission to track via the IDFA, used solely to personalise ads. Choosing "Ask App Not to Track" does not limit any feature — every tool keeps working, with non-personalised ads.
6. Children
Astral is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Data deletion
Uninstalling the App removes all on-device data. To request deletion of any analytics data associated with your device, email us at the address below.
